Ms. Downey is a summa cum laude graduate of Temple Universitys
Fox School of Business and Management with a dual major in Insurance
and Risk Management and Accounting. Along with ranking first in
her graduating Risk Management class, Ms. Downey was chosen nationally
for a scholarship to the Annual Risk and Insurance Management
Society. She completed her Masters in Education at Temple in Adult
and Organizational Development.

Ms. Downey founded Clarity Concepts in 1995. With the mission
to serve the risk and insurance management community, she has
provided a variety of organizations with her consulting expertise.
Her risk management clients have included Schott Corporation,
Carl Zeiss, Inc., Main Line Health Systems, Genencor International,
Entech Creative Industries, Saint-Gobain Corp., Commerce National
Insurance Services, Napco and CIGNA International.
Corporate Insurance and Risk Management
Experience
Ms. Downeys corporate experience includes risk management
positions with IU International, PaineWebber Group, Inc., and
The West Company. She worked as an Account Executive in insurance
brokerage with the Hobbs Group. She has served as adjunct faculty
at Temple University in Risk Management and at Penn States
Graduate School in Crisis Management. She served as a board member
of the Delaware Valley Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS).
Ms. Downey has served as Chair of the Speakers Bureau and Co-Treasurer
for the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the National Association
of Women Business Owners. She is a long-time member of this organizations
Education Committee. Ms. Downey is a founding member of the Delaware
Valley fundraising committee for the Spencer Risk Management Educational
Foundation. Ms. Downey holds the Associate in Risk Management
designation. She was licensed as an insurance broker in New York
State and as a non-resident in Pennsylvania. Ms. Downey has completed
and submitted all of the requirements for the Pennsylvania resident
Property and Casualty brokers license and her application is pending.
